Designed to help children explore the subject of measurement at Key Stage 1, Percy Gets Measuring, introduces the topics of length, capacity and weight in a selection of interesting activities. Children can practice using a set of balances on-screen to compare and match weights. Length is explored with activities involving measuring and comparison (using standard and non-standard units), whilst the activities on capacity also use standard and non-standard units. The teacher's section allow use of of either Metric or Imperial measurements throughout the program. This title is fully narrated for unsupervised use, includes a teacher’s section and printable worksheets for use away from the computer. The player has to look carefully at the images shown in this game, to decide which is the longest and which is the shortest.
The player must drag the ruler into position in this activity to measure the object shown. The must then type in their answer to see if they have measured correctly!
Players use a set of balance scales, on-screen, in this activity that requires them to move the weights to the scales to make them balance.
Players can practice reading dials in this activity where they must identify the scales that show a certain weight.
